In view of the current situation re the Corona Virus the committee together with Wimbleball sailing club have taken the very difficult decision to postpone the Inland National Championships due to be held over the weekend of 25th/26thApril. Wimbleball are at present in a situation where members are self isolating.
The reason for this is the likelihood of people not wanting to travel, stay in hotels, a strange clubhouse and an evening dinner in a local pub. This is particularly pertinent given that many of our sailors are in the high risk category. Many clubs including Wimbleball are already considering how best to safeguard their more vulnerable members. In fact some of the Wimbleball members have already self isolated for a unknown time, due to their age and medical conditions.
The Wimbleball sailing  committee have been considering alternative dates and think that the water levels in the lake in August, September may be too low.
A event late October or November may be better. However ,they have agreed to consider new dates over the next few weeks, to see what happens with the virus and a assess long term weather to check potential water levels of the lake.
We all hope that you will understand this course of action no matter how dissapointing this may be in the short term.
Thank you in anticipation
