Boat for Sale.
K1 number 98 for sale
My K1 is fully kitted out and race / road trailing ready. I’m selling her because a health problem is limiting my mobility and ability to go sailing. She is a lovely boat to sail single handed, beautifully balanced and easy to sail well. The K1 was designed by Paul Handley and is aimed at someone who wants to race a truly competitive single handed one design with a self tacking jib. It has a lively class association and support from Vandercraft is excellent.
Date of manufacture: March 2014
Hull by Rondar
Fitted out by Vandercraft, Devon
K1 98 is of the later design with the improved keel design and where the jib is controlled via a ‘dangly’ pole.
She has two sets of North sails both comprising a full size main and jib. The old set are the Mk I version and the new set (which have only been used 4 times) are Mk II.

K1 for sale – number K97
I’ve loved sailing this fast single hander, which will sail amazingly close to the wind, is light on the helm, a self tacker and can cope with strongish winds by healing without developing weather helm. Everything works perfectly. It also sails remarkably well on main alone and even jib alone, which I have found helpful when coming into Parkstone marina where it’s kept.
I now have a new wife who would like to join me on the water so I’m going for a two seater so to speak.
Dangly pole, jib furler, trolley, trailer, useful custom made cockpit cover, and reef points on the main if you want to go out in really high winds.
